BlueChip Energy Installs SunHouse™ Solar Electric System on Habitat for Humanity Home in Sanford, Florida

Solar System to Dramatically Reduce or Even Eliminate New Homeowner’s Monthly Electric Bill

LAKE MARY, FL. (July 30, 2012)  BlueChip Energy, LLC (BCE), a fully-integrated solar energy provider for residential, commercial and utility applications today announced it has completed the installation of a solar electric system that will power the latest Habitat for Humanity home in Sanford, Florida with renewable energy.

The SunHouse solar system features a 2800 Watt rooftop mounted solar electric system that is expected to supply enough electric power to the home to potentially eliminate its monthly electric bill. With the utility company’s net metering, the homeowner will earn a payback from connecting solar panels to the electric grid. The electricity generated from the sun will provide energy for the home and reduce the amount purchased. When the system produces more energy than used, the excess is supplied to the grid and that amount is subtracted from the monthly bill or banked for use on a future bill.

“We are thrilled to be able to donate and install a solar electric system that will not only provide clean renewable energy to a new homeowner in Seminole County, but also make their housing even more affordable by protecting against any future energy rate increases, said Lawrence Hefler spokesman for BlueChip Energy.

BlueChip Energy provided design, engineering, construction, and installation for the solar electricity project.  The residential solar system features ASP 240 Watt Photovoltaic (PV) crystalline silicon solar panels and an ASP inverter.  ASP manufactures its solar panels and racking systems in Lake Mary, Florida.

The solar electric installation was one of several building products and services donated by local area businesses.  The City of Sanford donated the property for the project.  The Habitat for Humanity home was built using green building practices making it extremely energy efficient.  When combined with renewable energy, building sustainable houses like this ensures that utility costs will be low.

BlueChip Energy, LLC (BCE) is a fully-integrated solar PV power generator, occupying all segments of the solar power value chain, from manufacturing of solar panels and balance of systems components, to the sale of turnkey solar power plants – and electricity – to utility, commercial and residential customers. BCE develops finances, constructs, operates, and monitors solar plants for companies and individuals, as well as for its own portfolio.
