BlueChip Energy To Receive Governor’s Business Diversification Award

Annual Program Honors Outstanding Contributions To Florida’s Economy.


LAKE MARY, FL., September 1, 2010 – BlueChip Energy, a provider of complete solar energy solutions for residential, commercial, government and utility applications, today announced it has been named winner of the 2010 Governor’s Business Diversification Award for Green-to-Gold in a major market.

Eighteen Florida companies in industries that the state targets for economic diversification and high wage job growth including cleantech and manufacturing will receive the awards. BlueChip Energy was one of three companies awarded in the Green-to-Gold category which recognizes companies, universities, or organizations that through product and process best exemplified “green” leadership as it pertains to the state’s goal to become a leader in this emerging field.

BlueChip Energy was recognized for its contributions toward renewable energy, cleantech, and manufacturing. The company is the only solar panel manufacturer in Florida; first to vertically integrate manufacturing, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, operations, monitoring, and maintenance; and the first alternative energy utility provider licensed with 80 MW capacity.

Companies representing 12 counties will receive 2010 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards. BlueChip Energy is the only company in Seminole County to receive the award. Most recently, BlueChip Energy was named Innovative Business of the Year by the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce at its annual Chamber Choice Awards.

The awards will be presented September 22 in Tallahassee during Florida’s annual Industry Appreciation Week (the third week of September). The 2010 Governor’s Business Diversification Awards are co-sponsored by Bank of America, Enterprise Florida and Florida Trend Magazine.
